United States of America's Mrs.- Shannon Jackowski
Shannon Jackowski hails from Southern, California and earned a full scholarship to the University of Hawaii as the featured twirler. While working on her bachelor’s degree, she not only was the featured twirler, she also managed to be on the dean’s list every year as well as earned the accomplishment of scholar-athlete in Track and Cross Country. Once graduating with her B.A. in Sociology and her Minor in Speech, she then decided to get her Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution. Through pageantry, Shannon was able to earn a scholarship and further her education and receive her Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership.
After graduating college, Shannon listened to her calling and joined the Honolulu Police Department, where she followed a long linage of law enforcement going back to her great grandparents on both sides of her family. Shannon met her husband, Chance, who is in the United States Army, while in living Hawaii but he was assigned to move to Katy, Texas. After spending 10 years in Hawaii and 4 ½ years as a Honolulu Police Officer, Shannon decided to move to Katy where she quickly found her niche as a Katy Independent School District Police Officer, and eventually, she became one of the narcotic Canine Handlers with her partner Cruz.
Shannon’s passion for helping others has transpired past her career as a police officer. She has partnered with the non-profit organization T.A.P.S (Teen And Police Services) which focuses on reducing the social distance between police and teens while creating an understanding of each other in order to engage, de-escalate and improve communities. Shannon has mentored students through multiple programs while in college, living in Hawaii and Katy ISD. As United States of America’s Mrs. and TAPS Community Ambassador, she will continue to mentor students while motivating them to never stop believing.
