UNITED STATES of America's TEEN 

Brooklyn was born and raised in Monroe, WA. She has 1 older sister, 1 younger brother, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. She is a 17 year old junior at Monroe High School where she is on the varsity cheer team, varsity track team, and a DECA student member. She loves dancing, cheering, competing in triple jump, and working the market at her high school.

 

Brooklyn’s platform is Pectus Excavatum Awareness. Brooklyn, along with her sister & brother, were born with a deformity called Pectus Excavatum. It is a condition where the sternum caves in and presses on the heart and lungs. Brooklyn’s Pectus was a very severe case and she had surgery last July to have 2 bars inserted her chest. Besides affecting the heart & lung functions, this condition also has an impact on body image. She hopes by sharing her journey she can help not only others with this same condition, but also be an advocate for positive body image.
